According to historical records, the first stuffed animals appeared in the United States of America in 1902, creations of a Russian immigrant named Morris Michtom.
The story goes that Michtom, a toy salesman, made the first teddy bears after listening to a story in which President Roosevelt went on a hunt and captured a bear, the president should kill the animal and take it as a trophy, but he declined, and the story of his kindness spread throughout the country.
The bears made by Morris Michtom to honor the story of Roosevelt became very famous and began to carry the name of Teddy Bear, "Teddy", nickname of Theodore Roosevelt's first name.
