It turns out that the article in The Times on April 28th entitled "Quartet of three thinkers," presenting them as the Portico Trio, describing them as "a slimmed down Portico Quartet" was misleading and factually incorrect.
Portico Quartet this morning announce that "we will not be turning into a trio, rather we welcome keyboard and hang player Keir Vine (above) to the band."
The band's website confirms that Nick Mulvey has left the band on amicable terms - "He leaves with our love and support" - to pursue ambitions as a singer-songwriter.
Portico Quartet has a very busy tour schedule, and announces that the band is currently expecting to make a new recording in August.
